Carlsbad fires 2014 – Before and After aerial images

I have been flying in San Diego County for over 20 years and our base airport is Palomar Airport. The Poinsettia fire burnt over 400 acres, seen in the comparison views below.  The aerials show El Camino Real in the foreground and are looking to the west. You will notice the difference in the brush which was green before and now is black & grey.

This area has many single family homes, apartment complexes, industrial complexes and the Aviara Elementary school.  The fire fighters did such an outstanding job that only 3 homes and 2 industrial building were lost. LENSKA Aerial Images has stock photos of San Diego County, bird’s-eye views and mapping views. The before photos are from our archives and matched up with the new aerial photos we recently took.

Historical, up-to-date aerial photographs can be very useful when dealing with insurance companies, adjusters and home owner associations. Many city services, such as fire, community, engineering, have hired us to fly new aerials or used our stock photos for assessment and analysis.
